Right atrial thrombosis associated with sagittal sinus thrombosis caused by protein C-S deficiency.
Right atrial thrombi may develop within the right atrium or may have peripheral venous origins that, on their way to the final destination site lodge in, right atrium. Right atrial thrombosis is classified as two type: A (mobile, thin) and B (non mobile and attached to atrial wall) that they are probably of cardiac origin due to local pathology, indwelling catheter, atrial fibrillation, stasis,...

In patients with sickle cell disease, thrombotic microangiopathy is a rare complication. Also in sickle cell disease, intracardiac thrombus formation without structural heart diseases or atrial arrhythmias is a rare phenomenon. We herein describe a 22-year-old woman, who was a known case of sickle cell-βthalassemia, had a history of recent missed abortion, and was admitted with a vaso-occlusive...
متن کاملThrombus in transit: traveling from the inferior vena cava to the left ventricle
A 54-year-old previously healthy woman presented with shortness of breath following a long car journey. The patient was found to have massive pulmonary embolism on computed tomography (CT) angiography (Fig. 1). Transthoracic echocardiography showed a dilated and poor-functioning right ventricle with a snake-like large mobile thrombus extending from the inferior vena cava (Video 1) to the right ...
متن کاملClot in Lung, Clot in Heart: A Case Report of Tumor-Like Thrombus in Right Atrium
Tumor-like formation of thrombus in the right atrial cavity is rare. It may be mistaken for a myxoma. The exact pathophysiology of an isolated thrombus in the heart is still unclear. Management to prevent complications such as pulmonary thromboembolism depends on the clinical judgment of a cardiologist. This report describes a 76-year-old woman with right atrial thrombus causing subsequent pulm...

Intraoperative formation and management of a thrombus in right atrium has been reported occasionally. Nevertheless, it is rare that a right atrial thrombus with unstable hemodynamic changes detected by transesophageal echocardiography is resolved spontaneously. We report upon the 44-year-old woman, who had a right atrial thrombus detected by transesophageal echocardiography during laparoscopic ...
